For the slow sticks I used to group people by score as we went along. All the
highest scores in a heat and all the lowest in another. Then just told people
to pick a lane they didn't have before. I do the soaring that way though
soaring is against the clock so not as important who you fly against.
Might be easier than doing a detailed schedule like you guys did for snipes,
but just a thought.

flying rotation would be used. This was done to equalize the starts, i.e.,
being closest to the pylon versus being farthest from the pylon. For our
upcoming Slow Stick and E-snipe events we are going have only 3 pilots compete
per heat. This is a safety measure as the Trigger runway is narrower than the
Port Gamble runway as is the zone between the pilots’ stations and the runway
edge. With 3 pilots per heat, 4 heats making a race and with start lane
shifting, it makes for some interesting combinations and additional heats. for
example: Number of Pilots Number of Heats Required 4
6 5
7 6 8
7 10 8
11 And some heats will have only 2 pilots
competing. After we have pylon raced at Trigger, we’ll evaluate if we can go to
4 pilots or stay with 3 pilots as well as any other needed changes to make
pylon racing safe, fair and FUN!
