Thanks to everyone who turned out on a cold morning today for the soaring event.
We had great weather, though, with the sun and no wind. We had 9 pilots
participate during the year.
I have written up the details and sent it to Kregg for the club newsletter.
But if you are dying to know, Jake got first overall this year, I took second,
and Lee was third.
We will start a brand new season on the last Saturday of January, 9 am.
I plan to keep it the same as this year, with some minor tweaks. I want to
keep it simple so we can focus on improving our flying.
Any glider is still welcome. Motor run time will be shortened to 20 seconds,
which will shorten our flight times but will keep us from flying out of sight.
I hope!We will have each pilot fly 3 times (unless we abort due to wind or fog
or rain).Max flight time will be 8 minutes, in case we get some good lift.
Anything longer than 8 minutes will be scored as 8.
And like I tell folks, it doesn't matter if you are just learning, because
there are no cash awards to compete for, and no corporate sponsorship! I keep
score just to give us some way to measure ourselves, not to take it too
seriously.
