It is interesting that you put this link out for the operation of the
Companion. I did all of my programming through the buttons on the
transmitter.
I like this guy because he talks about a lot of the neat things that OpenTx
supports including a number of programming "best practices". I think one
of the coolest things it supports is the concept of instant trim, which
could be very useful for maidens. He has assigned his momentary switch so
that it will copy the stick positions to the trim settings. Let's say that
you have just figured out what it takes to make your plane fly straight and
level. All you have to do is hit the momentary switch and release the
sticks. The trims now reflect the offsets from neutral on the radio. You
can also do it one axis at a time.
After the plane is back on the ground, he can copy the trim settings for
each axis to the sub-trim offsets in the transmitter. Pretty cool...
The video covers a lot and assumes that you have a little background in
OpenTx. So, it may not be your best 1st video on OpenTx.

After learning a little, this opentx software is wonderful and is so easy
to use.
