Jake, I made a new vertical stabilizer and rudder. I did this so I could set
the vertical stab into the fuselage instead of surface gluing. See the
picture “Notch,” where I made a channel for the vertical stab to fit into.
I made a new tail wheel wire and a small piece of ply to hold the wire. The
wire is connected to the rudder. I made a shallow grove in the rudder bottom
and epoxied the wire in the grove. The wheel collar is used to keep pressure
off of the wire/rudder connection. Hopefully the other pictures are worth a
zillion words.
Rick

Rick and Lee, any design instructions for the steerable tail wheel on the
STANG?

Good Job Lee, you are the second person to suggest that ! I have never had
that problem, however, I usually get off the ground quickly.

After doing ground loops every 10 feet during "taxi" tests i added a
tailwheel that cured the problem. Now waiting to see if it flys! Lee
