I think it is a new feature in 10g R1 ;)

SQL*Plus: Release 10.1.0.2.0 - Production on Tue Feb 3 17:04:44 2004

SQL> show parameter dump

SQL> oradebug setospid 1779
Oracle pid: 7, Unix process pid: 1779, image: oracle@df2hp017 (SMON)

SQL> oradebug event 10046 trace name context forever, level 12
Statement processed.

SQL> oradebug tracefile_name
/u01/home/oracle/product/10.1.0/rdbms/log/da9t_ora_1779.trc

SQL> !ls -ld /u888/oradata/DA9T/*dump
drwxrwxr-- 2 oracle dba 29696 Jan 31 15:44
/u888/oradata/DA9T/bdump
drwxrwxr-- 2 oracle dba 96 Feb 2 12:44
/u888/oradata/DA9T/cdump
drwxrwxr-- 2 oracle dba 1024 Feb 1 07:13
/u888/oradata/DA9T/udump

No links for *dump directories. Ownerships, permissions ok.

I have failed to find anything wrong with my setup. Worked fine when DA9T was a
9i database using
exactly the same file systems/directories etc.

Not a big issue to me, yet, to log an iTAR.
