        root should be used as little as possible, preferrably not at all
-- current best practice is to run just a few specific, simple commands
with sudo.

        Big, complex, inherently unsafe systems such as graphical
interfaces (think X, MS Windows) and DBMSs (Oracle, DB2, whatever)
shouldn't be root.  Ever.  Specially if they are black boxes.
