Sorry, left that out. Linux, RH I believe. Kernel is 2.4...ELsmp. Oracle 
10.2.0.1. System has been running fine since bounced yesterday evening. 

It appears that no one else has ever seen this either...

Hmmm... why do I always get lucky...
