If you use OEM to create your script, and check the delete obsolete box it
will actually do it without asking for the reply. I use that and it does
show that obsolete files were deleted.

Subject: rman question

Is there any way to force rman to delete files within a rman script?

My shell script does a

rman <<EOF
connect target
report obsolete;
EOF

But, as you know to do a delete obsolete a "YES" needs to be passed to rman.
  Has anybody ever done this within a rman script?

thanks.
