Hi Sundar,

it still reports as none
What does report none? The disk itself or the ODM (please check the mentioned
IBM note to verify both)?

Should i run chdev on node2 as well? or should i expect it to automatically
change from none to pvid value, when i issue chdev on node1.
No need to run chdev on node 2 again, but the ODM on node 2 is not updated
automatically. Please try the following on node 2 to clear the ODM and
rediscover the whole disk.

shell> rmdev -dl hdisk<X>
shelL> cfgmgr -S

Otherwise please check if the disk header is accessible from node 2 (e.g. SCSI
reservation / reset). For more information - please also check out

Thanks Stefan for the quick response. Can you please clarify this statement:
"As you already got the pvid on node 1 you should only run the command
on node 2". Are you referring to command chdev or cfgmgr here?

Here is what i have done:
a) Node 1
-- shell> chdev -l hdisk<X> -a pv=yes

At this point, i have a pvid on node1 and node2 has pvid none.

b) Node 2
-- shell> cfgmgr -S

When i run only cfgmgr -S on node2, it still reports as none. Should i run
chdev on node2 as well? or should i expect it to automatically change
from none to pvid value, when i issue chdev on node1. Thanks.
