port monitoring through grid control

we are in the process of implementing grid control as our monitoring tool.
Our sysadmins want to do some port monitoring using grid control. They want
to get an alert when there is no listener on a particular port, is this some
thing grid control can do?
I know there is some thing like OS command, we can execute through grid
control, but is there any out of the box port monitoring stuff?
