oracle windows process crash

Oracle on Windows here.  Has anybody experience the oracle.exe process just
disappear and the Windows Service not running anymore?  This has happened 3
times on 2 different 10g XE instances.  There is not information in the
alert log or the Windows Event Viewer.  What could I do to help
troubleshoot this issue?  I am lost.
