mgmtdb in GI 12.1.0.2

Is anybody using Grid Infrastructure Management Repository (GIMR) database
MGMTDB:
for metrics or to gather any type of information. Is it merely for oracle
support? The docs just show basic administration information nothing on data
dictionary or what info you can gather.
