Re: local connections fail, but listener connections succeed

Thinking a bit further - on Darwin (MacOS) it's impossible for other 
users to connect locally because of the security on the shared memory. 
Perhaps this can play a role in Windows as well, e.g. due to a virus 
checker that prevents processes to attach to shared memory. Perhaps the 
service was not started by the correct user (I believe it should be 
SYSTEM) or with enough privileges.
