Kathy - I don't know anything about Jbosse, but I have seen something
similar in WebLogic. There was a configuration setting in WebLogic that
controlled it. I would visit with your Jbosse administrator, or if that
is
you, prowl the Jbosse support lists.

Subject: jbosse and database persistance

Jbosse in a new version 3.2.5 checks database persistance by using
select
'x' from dual. 5,000,000 hits in 10 days.... ouch!
=20
Since the developers are using a fair amount of connections - about 100
needless to say my database is getting hit hard by this.
=20
I have the developer looking into whether we can change it to using the
x$dual table instead. =20
=20
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I could do? Is
anyone
one else having this issue?
=20
We are on 8i, 9i (which is less intensive) and migrating to 10G on
Solaris.

merci,
