Is it possible for you to use user-defined metrics 
in grid? In that case you can create one that will
rely on table that you fill with data pattern
and disable standard predefined one

OEM DOES have a habit of packing up suddenly - I've had 3 SRs about that
recently - Fixed them eventually but it ALWAYS takes ages
