Kernels v4 are not the latest and are very well tested. In my experience,
the greatest hurdle is the compatibility of the ACFS drivers. Since your
kernel is not the latest one, the problems are unlikely. However, I'd still
advise you to test on 2 virtual machines.

I`m trying to gather some documentation/information on what impact OS
kernel upgrades have (in my situation OL6 with kernel v3 upgrade to kernel
v4) for oracle clusterware/rac database.
One obvious action that comes into my mind is Relink, described in Doc ID
1536057.1 How To Relink The Oracle Grid Infrastructure Standalone (Restart)
Installation Or Oracle Grid Infrastructure RAC/Cluster Installation (11.2
Another aspect is an unsupported scenario where some nodes are running a
kernel version where others are running a different version. This might
-> either downtime
-> in rolling fashion (
Third aspect will be the ASMLib Kernel Driver. Described into (How To
Upgrade ASMLib Kernel Driver as Part of Kernel Upgrade? (Doc ID 1391807.1))
Is there anything else that I`m missing ?
Thanks for your help.
