Re Noon's comment:

Anyone here ever do the math to determine how long it will take
to max out a sequence?

( see item #4 in the article)

Assume:

* 1000 sites
* 1000 transactions per second at at least 1 site

With a maximum value of 9,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 for a single
sequence,
how long will it take a site consuming 1000 sequences per second to exhaust
the sequence?

Or at 1,000,000 sequnces per second?
