gathering network requirements for a database.

Happy Friday list,

This should be an easy one for all of you. I need to measure how much data is
passed to and from the database via the network (not loading/unloading database
data to files on the server). Having one of our apps sending data from a file
to the database is easy to calculate, but I also need to capture the size of
transactions being sent through the wire. I have in my STATSPACK reports 'bytes
sent via sql*net to client' and 'bytes received via sql*net from client', and
that seems to be providing me with at least one indicator how expected network
load.

What other datapoints (in statspack, database, or otherwise) can assist me in
getting the data that I am looking for?

We are currently using 11.2.0.4 for most of our databases.

Thanks,
-joel slowik
