You might need a firewall port opened.  And it's also possible that
you're restricted to sftp (secure ftp).  Check with your SA.

First guess:  TCP wrappers.  Ask your sysadmin if TCP wrappers are
enabled on the linux server, and whether your ip address is authorized
to connect.

Hello all,

   I am trying to ftp some scripts to a linux server and I get an error
saying:

 

The FTP server returned this error:

A connection can not be established

Please try again.

 

Is there an admin permission that has to be set up for my userid?  Or is
there some ftp protocol that needs to be run?

I'm somewhat new to linux......
