Adric gets the points, the cp command worked perfectly.    Andy Klock, I
read that document on the metalink but didnt think it was very clear, which
was why I posted the question to the list.

You can copy local files (in ASM or otherwise) directly to a remote ASM
instance using the *asmcmd* command. It's been awhile since I've done
this, but the syntax is roughly:

ASMCMD [+] > cp +data/mydb/datafile/some_file sys/password@server.+ASM1:+
data/somewhere/somefile

Type "help cp" from within asmcmd to get more info and examples.

One caveat is that you *must* be able to resolve the remote host using a
short name. This is because Oracle decided to make "." a delimiter for the
connect string, and (as of 11.2.0.3, IIRC) didn't provide any facility to
escape characters.

I have been looking around, and I cant find a good step by step document
for this.  I have a primary database that uses TDE, and has the wallet in
ASM..  I need to figure out the steps to copy the wallet from the primary
to the standby, Preferably still using ASM on the standby, though that is
not critcal.  Oracle 12c on linux.
