emctl startup failure

Dear All,
I am getting the following error while starting Enterprise Manager.
[oracle@saminathan oracle]$ emctl start dbconsole .
TZ set to US/Eastern
Unable to determine local host from URL
EMD_URL=http://saminathan:/emd/main
Have anyone experience similar kind of issue? your help & hint would be
really appreciated.
