Well, with over 500 instances of Oracle still hanging
around, I don't see the ship changing course too
fast, but I can tell which way the winds are blowing.

The new CIO has pretty much stated that from
now on, we're going to be going almost exclusively
with open source solutions for new systems.
mySQL/Perl/Linux/Apache (etc). I figure it's time
to start reading.

I've already ordered mySQL by Paul DuBois
from New Riders Publishing.
(along with a buch of other stuff) from bookpool.
I was wondering what other ones might be good.
(BTW - anybody know the release date of Robert Freeman's
10g new features book. Web site said "3/2004")

Matt,
What do you mean by "made the leap from working with Oracle to working
with mySQL"?????
are you abandoning the ship? has your ship changed course? has you ship
started to sink?
are you getting something pink in the mail?
Ron

For those of you who have already made the leap
from working with Oracle to working with mySQL,
which books helped you the most in coming up to
speed with mySQL?

Matt
