I ran into a very strange issue with asmlib today, while configuring it on
oel 7.3 I entered the command /etc/init.d/oracleasm configure and it shut
down oracleasm. It did not prompt me for the asmlib configuration. I did
the same thing on multiple nodes, and the same thing happened.
So finally, I edited the /etc/sysconfig/oracleasm file and put in the
correct settings for running asmlib, then ran /etc/init.d/oracleasm
configure. And it started oracleasm and set up the configuration. It
appears that it just did whatever was configured in the file, rather than
writing the file.
Is this a new 'feature' for asmlib? Has anyone else seen this behavior?
