active-pasive cluster in linux

Hi
I need to configure an Oracle database into an active-pasive cluster in linux.
As HP Serviceguard isn´t now available for linux I will go with RedHat Cluster
but my past experiences with v4 aren´t good.
I know I can use Oracle Clusterware to configure an active-pasive service but I
don´t tried it.
Are there other good alternatives?
Please share your experiences with active-pasive clusters on linux.
RAC isn´t a option here.
