If an instance detects the loss of an active interconnect path it will shut down. If a member of a bonded interface goes offline but the other stays online (thereby keeping the bonded interface alive) the instance will continue. Bear in mind that Redhat 4 has bond bugs - you will need to upgrade to RHEL5 to thwart them. RHEL4 doesn't properly detect the loss of a member of a bond. thanks Jason-- //www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
