Using Cisco Ace for RAC VIP failover

Has anyone tried to use client-side failover using Ace modules (network layer). 
The clients are configured to hit a network IP that, in turn, forwards them to 
any of the 2 Oracle VIP's of the cluster. This is vs. having to rely on 
tnsnames. The idea here is to avoid having to reconfigure the clients in case 
of a failover to standby node in case of a DR situation. 
A quick search returned info on using his method with Oracle application suite, 
but nothing specific to a GI/RAC cluster. 
If yes, please share your experience. I'm having an issues where the app is 
sporadically throwing 'listener not found' errors.
