The last time that I checked the product life cycle docs, July 2015 is
stated as the end of support date for the 12.1.0.1 patchset. The first
comp'd year of extended support for 11.2.0.4 ends in Jan 2016. Someone at
Oracle needs to step up and state a plan and release schedule for non-EE
editions.

I agree that SE is a financially attractive option. I was doing some
research recently, and was surprised to learn that per Oracle Support Doc
ID 1905806.1 12c Patchset 1 (12.1.0.2) hasn't been released for SE and a
public schedule isn't announced yet.
I'm curious to know if anyone has some insights into why the patch is
delayed and whether such delays are historically a common occurrence for SE?
