Orac_Dba is a great tool, but the author is not updating it. Me and another guy on this list were supposed to take over, but it seems that neither of us has had enough time to do it. I did patch my own version, but those were intermediate patches, not eligible for releasing into the wild. What is missing from the tool are various tablespace options (temporary, locally managed, ,uniform size, autoallocate, ASSM, plugged) and wait events. Use of DDL::Oracle should be scrapped entirely or the DDL::Oracle module should be completely rewritten using DBMS_METADATA. Tim Bunce is about to finish a complete rewrite of DBD::Oracle (version 1.16 will not support OCI7 any longer) and the new DBD::Oracle was in RC6 phase last time I checked (release candidate 6), so it doesn't make sense to start writing new version until that was done. Also, I think that the new Orac_Dba shouldn't support 8i, but start with 9.2 as the most frequent version employed. -- Mladen Gogala Oracle DBA email:mladeng@xxxxxxxxx Ext: 9787 > -----Original Message----- > From: Jared.Still@xxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Jared.Still@xxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Monday, August 16, 2004 1:21 PM > To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: RE: Toad vs TOra vs ? > > > > Quest has boot Tora to kill off competition to Toad.
