Hi Listers, I have a 10gR2 database running on a HP-UX (HP Unix B.11.11 U 9000/800 1801480297). The server's file system allows only files with the maximum size of 2G. My biggest tablespace has one file and right now is about 800 MB in size. I thought one way to do this is to add a new file to the tablespace. But the question is how can I prevent the first file from growing? Should I do anything at all or Oracle automatically continues writing on the new file and abandon the first file (as it doesn't write anything there anymore)? Cheers, Amir Gheibi
