Meaning you would hesitate to install Toad on a production system, right?

For test (not QA or acceptance) and development systems, why not?

Of course this implies that you have a secure process for managing users and
privileges from dev to test to QA to acceptance to production, etc....

Subject: TOAD Xpert privileges

List - Someone here purchased TOAD Xpert for a couple of the =
developers. The
following is an excerpt from the Quest manual. Is this for real? Should
anyone besides a DBA be using this tool? Is anyone else on the list =
willing
to admit doing this for one of their developers?

To succussfully run the object installation scripts, the schema should =
have
the following roles/privileges. The individual privileges need to be =
granted
explicitly instead of using the DBA role. These privileges are not
recognized from the role when using packages.

=B7 DBA
=B7 Create Any Synonym
=B7 Drop Any Synonym
=B7 Create Role
=B7 Create Any Procedure
=B7 Create Any Table
