You get 2 rows per statid, one for serial IO and cpu speed, and one for parallel IO. There are 12 slots to hold statistics (n1 - n12) and there are only 4 statistics values for serial IO (for Oracle 9): cpuspeed, mbrc, sreadtim, and mreadtim so one row is enough to store that.
