Cool! The last time I ever saw one without suid was 8.0.5.x, and I can't remember the details about it. All I can remember is that it would run. Now, you got me wondering how the listener interacts with or uses the oracle executable to spawn a dedicated session that it requires suid on the executable; and what differences (if any) there are when connecting with shared server with pre-spawn server processes.
