Why do you need to keep the same DBID? Why not just use the DUPLICATE
DATABASE command?
Yes, rman will be aware of you incrementals as long as you use a backup
controlfile that is recent enough to be aware of your incrementals, but
I'd recommend just connecting to your catalog and using the duplicate
command instead.
