I worked with John some time back and learned a lot from him. I spent many a
happy hour testing our backups, and recording these test results for the
auditors!
In my current contract, nothing like that was being done, so now that my team
is running production, I have implemented regular tests of the backups.
Mind you, I don't have as many production databases as John! Only a few.
It's just common sense.
