Matthew Been there, done that. I've run into the phenomenon where recovery asks for an SCN and suggests a log that contains that SCN. Oracle then applies all the changes in that log, which prompts it to need just one more SCN, and suggests a log. It never ends. If you recover to an SCN that is in the next log, then recovery is satisfied. Now I should clarify that this is when you are using RESETLOGS. I think you've had better suggestions by switching logs, or bringing over the current logs. The dates on the last system change numbers applied are substantially after the end of the online backup completion. -Matt -----Original Message----- From: Stephen.Lee@xxxxxxxx [mailto:Stephen.Lee@xxxxxxxx]=20 Try going back to the original, do a couple of log switches, then grab the archived logs and copy them over. The online redo files on the original are at whatever system change number the copied database is looking for. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to: oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. -- Archives are at //www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/ FAQ is at //www.freelists.org/help/fom-serve/cache/1.html ----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to: oracle-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. -- Archives are at //www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/ FAQ is at //www.freelists.org/help/fom-serve/cache/1.html -----------------------------------------------------------------
