Ruth , TSPITR in not needed in my case. Perhaps my original post was not clear or that u have mis-understood my question . As Hemant & Richard Foote pointed out , taking my tablespace OFFLINE IMMEDIATE helped me to recover the tablespace with database open. Thank u all .
