Raw datatype columns dropped in 9i

I did an export/import to convert our Oracle 8174 database to 9204.
(this was because of change in OS, different servers etc etc). Anyway,
I just discovered something. Several views which are valid in the
current production are invalid on the new server. On further
investigating, I realized that the tables on the new server do not
columns of raw datatype. The export/import seems to have dropped those
columns.
Has anyone seen this happen? Oracle 9i is supposed to support RAW datatypes.
