Hi, Everyone,
If I ran RMAN Validate copy of database check logical and it returns no corruption, does it mean the image copy is good?
Along with the other ideas presented here, another report I use is REPORT NEED BACKUP. You can use this to determine which database files need backup under a specific retention policy. Also, this is a way for check if a data file in the backupset has been changed by an unrecoverable operation. I accidentally found that a java developer (or his IDE, rather) had created tables with the "unrecoverable" option this way. I guess the data wasn't that important :)
