I'd be very careful with that command and make sure that your "expired" logs 
are indeed actually expired first.  If you're running crosscheck against a 
netbackup catalog for example and you don't have your client, server or 
possibly other variables set correctly, you might get backups erroneously 
categorized as expired just because RMAN can't find them in the netbackup 
catalog.
