Some time ago, I have tried to measure the interconnect speed in HP Tru64
3 node RAC configuration based on memory cards.
I got some thing like 0.5ms for one access.
Theoretically if light speed 18600 mlies/sec. then for 100 miles latency
going to be ~0.53ms (just to get to destination) + HW overhead.
.
It can appear that latency in interconnect communication will be 3 times
more then in local configuration.
.
And there theoretically you are going to locate shared storage? ;)
.
May be some in this list working in distributed configuration.
It will be very interesting to hear about such case.

I can envision possible issues with network latency or outages, but I'm=20

what other problems/issues others may have found if/when they tried such

configuration.
