Of course, the thought of fixing the problem comes to mind.

eg.  Why is there data in two tables that much match?

If you need two tables, designate one as the source and
create the other as a Materialized View.

There are usually other problems to overcome to accomplish that,
but should be easier than a work-around like comparing data.
