Portal lockouts/ expirys

Oracle 10 Oracle Portal with Weblogic
on Redhat Linux
This is weird to my unschooled (in Portal) eyes. We have 30 users
using portal all set up in August some are being locked out or at
least being told they are in a grace period for password expiry and
yet others seem ok no warning nothing. All users are set up the same.
A little puzzle for Friday afternoon?
