Thanks to all for your help, but now I am even more confused about what to
install.
Rui is correct that patch 10098816 is the standalone patch set for 11.2.0.2.
Since it is patch set 1, I would assume it would bring the database up to
11.2.0.2.1. It was released in September 2010.
Patch 10248523 is the 11.2.0.2.1 Patch Set Update. It says that Patch Set
Updates are cumulative, and since it was released just a few weeks ago, I would
expect it to include patch 10098816, along with all important patches that have
come since. But it doesn't seem to, or at least it is not listed anywhere.
And the readmes for the two patches are vastly different; even the
installation instructions seem different.
So what is the best practice here? Do people install each PSU as it comes out?
Is there a reason to install only the standalone update to 11.2.0.2.1?
