Hi,

how much load is on the database and on the server?

We get these sometimes when running at 100% CPU or IO and
a RMAN backup on several parallel channels is added. Not
daily, though.

Ingrid

Dear List,

I am getting the following error in one of my databases and it is leaving me clueless on the cause of the error. Below is the error reported under "Computer Management" --> Event Viewer --> System

"The OracleServiceproddb serivce terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s)."

This is happening on a daily basis. Everyday I need to recycle the server. Here's my environment:

Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition
Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4)

Memory: 4 GB
CPU: 2.33 GHz QuadCore

When the crash happens, nothing is written to the alert.log nor to any files in udump and cdump. Even if I copy last lines or attach the alert.log, you will find it useless as no info is written to it. The last line is about a log switch.

When I try to restart database soon after the crash, it breaks again with "End-of-file communication". So, I am forced to reboot the server.

Can anybody on the list please share their experience.

Thanks
