Oracle login counts

I can't find where oracle stores the count for login attempts.  I have my 
failed_attempts set to 10 and it did lock the account after failing, but, I'm 
trying to determine


1)      Where this count is maintained.

2)      If this count is cumulative or does it reset once a successful login 
occurs.  (I suspect reset but just want to make sure)
