If I'm interested in product direction, I speak to the product managers.
Anomous sources are questionable at best.
If I remember correctly 10xe was based on 10.2.0.2 and 11xe 11.2.0.2. So there
is still time to see 12xe. Jumping to mysql might be premature.

Subject: Oracle XE 12c ?
I read a bit on the 'net, one "anonymous" user says an Oracle instructor
mentioned there won't be a 12c version of OracleXE, that people should use
MySQL instead
Is that true?
Given the version numbers come and go, we would rather install a 12c version
of XE than 11g and have to upgrade it again in a few months when a 12c XE
version is released. If one is ever released.
