Oracle RAC Memory DB on Non-Engineered Systems?

Anyone tested Oracle IMDB on RAC?
Was going through the doc and found IMDB is not supported on RAC
 (if its not Oracle Hardware-- read: engineered systems).

Anyone else here run Oracle RAC IMDB  on non-engineered systems?
