Another reference worth considering if you must work with multiple brands of
database (or even if you don't) is "SQL Pocket Guide", from O'Reilly, by
Jonathan Gennick who is on the list here. The emphasis is on SQL: not
PL/SQL, not Transact SQL, just SQL. But it does discuss, when appropriate,
how you do it Oracle versus how you do it in DB2 versus how you do it some
"other" database. It's a pocket book. It's cheap. It's true, I must
admit, that a copy of Hustler magazine is a little bit cheaper, so adjust
your spending according to your priorities.
And the Angel finale was on again last night. But I have again forgotten
the exact quote. It's something like:
"Personally, I kind of want to get that dragon. Let's go to work!"
