in a previous company we hit exactly this issue.
On some very heavy used clusters (many DBs, many DGs, many disks) we even
had to increase AWR SGA to 2G.
during this change we decided to go to hugepages as well.
We never analyzed the real SGA usage in detail...

Thanks to all for sharing your opinion. Also can you suggest what should
be set if taking ASM out of AMM for
SGA_TARGET/SGA_MAX_SIZE/PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET.
Current I saw most of the env is using AMM with 1G but checking one Oracle
doc (437924.1) was recommending AMM for 1536M. Don't saw any issue with
current AMM of 1G and so looking for any suggestion as how it should be
changed while moving to AMM for ASM.
