And specifically for testing the throughput with respect to use by Oracle of a
persistent media stack, there is SLOB from Kevin Closson.
It's Silly. It's Little. It just drives Oracle i/o against pretty much any
media stack. It's free and easy to use.
Be a SLOBer. They've even got a cool button that lights up you can wear.
(Not a paid endorser. Just a friend and fan of Kevin.)

Subject: RE: Oracle 12c and All-Flash Technology
Did anyone in your company benchmark the Kaminario All-Flash array you are
getting or did someone just buy something?
I always tell clients they should benchmark the equipment they are going to
use, instead of believing someone else's pre-made benchmarks. It only takes a
few days at a vendors lab to verify what you would be getting in performance
and how would things actually work in your environment. By going to the lab you
can also verify that nothing funny is happening in the benchmark.
As to benchmarks, I normally like to start at the upper level benchmarks (if
you really want benchmarks) that vendors perform to compete with each other.

http://www.tpc.org/
You should read the full disclosure reports. Pay attention to the server
config, network config and storage network config to compare with what your
company is implementing. If you are not using equivalent sized hardware or
equivalent configed hardware you will not necessarily be hitting those really
nice benchmark numbers.
You also should look at the parameter settings in the report that were used at
the OS, network or Storage level. I always like taking those settings and if
they are a vendor we are already using to put them into a Support request as to
whether they are really supported. Sometimes benchmarks are not as real as they
should be.

Oracle SMEs
Reaching out to see if anyone has implemented 12c on Kaminario All-Flash
storage technology. Apologies for open-endedness of question but would like to
know any KPIs or benchmarks that have been netted.
Current preferred vendor is HP and we usually have Oracle running on
combination of SAS/SSD drives. Been trying to convince my management to look at
a ZFS/NetApp. In the case for Kaminario, it is fairly inexpensive in respect to
it's competition.
Welcome any advice/anecdotal evidence.
